A little bit about the girl behind the camera…
My ancestors were among the early pioneers who settled in Bothell, Washington, in the late 1800s. I have lived in various other places throughout Washington, but I attended high school and even got married in this historic town.
My husband, Jeff, is the love of my life. We met in college and spent time together as Section Leaders in the marching band and also in a band service organization called Kappa Kappa Psi. In 2006, he proposed on top of the Seattle Space Needle (very romantic!) and we had a beautiful wedding the following year. We currently reside in Snohomish county, a short drive north of Seattle, Washington. We have three adorable “children,” including our 130lb dog, Zeus, and our two cats, Louie and Callie. Someday, we hope to have other children with two legs and a just little less fur…
Following college, I spent several years in the banking and real estate industries. In 2007, I decided to pursue a dream of starting my own small business in the wedding industry. In addition to Kimberly Dunlap Photography, I own another business called A Touch of Class Creations, a company that specializes in jewelry, gifts, and supplies for weddings and special occasions. Since that time, my companies have been featured in major wedding shows and expos around the greater Seattle area. It is such a joy and an honor for me to be able to work with engaged couples during one the happiest times of their lives!
A few of the many things I love…
{ MY FAMILY } My parents, grandparents, and husband are the most important people in my life. They have taught me, inspired me, supported me, and always encouraged me to follow my dreams. I will never be able to thank my family enough for what they have given me and I love them with all my heart. ♥
{ MY JOB } I love my job! I would hardly classify it as a “job” though; I simply feel very privileged to be able to do what I love for a living!
{ MY CLIENTS } My clients are some of the most wonderful people I have ever met. I have formed lasting friendships with new clients and always enjoy working with old friends. I love capturing the special moments that happen between families and people who are in love. I feel very blessed to follow my dreams and to be able to bring joy to the lives of others through my photographs.
{ ANIMALS } I love spending time with my animals. I have had a wide variety of pets including: cats, dogs, hamsters, rabbits, fish, ducks, chickens, pigeons, cows, horses, and yes, even llamas! My first real job, at the age of 14, was working as an assistant in a veterinary clinic.
{ THINGS THAT SMELL GOOD } A salty coastal breeze, flowers, Thanksgiving Day turkey, fresh-cut lawns, perfume, the lumber aisle in Home Depot, puppies, crisp mountain air, horse barns (the clean ones!), homemade apple pie, springtime…
{ MUSIC } While in school, I played percussion for eleven years and tenor sax for three years. I earned the honor of Section Leader in both high school and college, and also competed at the state-level. I was also selected as one of 150 students from high schools throughout the state who got to tour and perform in seven different European countries. ♪♫♪ ♪♫♪
{ FAIRS } Roller coasters, animal shows and exhibits, cotton candy, carnival games, old-time photos, giant baked potatoes, Alaskan pig races… It doesn’t get much better than that!
{ SPORTS } Football and baseball are my favorite sports to watch; horseback riding and skiing are my favorites to enjoy.
{ CORN MAZES } Kind of corny, I know, but so am I sometimes…
{ TRAVELING } By the age of 19, I had visited every continent in the world except for South America and Antarctica. Someday, I hope to visit those places as well. I enjoy experiencing different cultures, meeting new people, standing in awe of ancient architectural structures, and studying wildlife around the world. While I love all of these things, I could not imagine coming home to a more beautiful place: the Pacific Northwest.
{ CHICKEN & TATER TOTS } My very favorite dinner from childhood, and still pretty high up on the list today!
{ PUPPIES } I love playing with puppies, watching them romp around with their siblings, and holding a sleepy puppy as it drifts off into dreamland. The teething stage is another story though…
{ DANCING } I thoroughly enjoy making other people laugh, so my dance skills would certainly fit well into that category. “The sprinkler” and “the lawnmower” are just a few of the classic moves I like to bust out at sporting events…
{ SWIMMING } If you can coax me into wearing a bathing suit, I’ll be the one who stays out and plays the longest.
{ SUNSETS } A beautiful evening sky radiating with color, a gentle breeze, a quiet moment at the end of a long day as the sun descends below the horizon… Its times like these that really make me appreciate life.
