I met mother of the bride, Kim, during a bridal expo and learned that she was searching for a wedding photographer for her daughter, Sara, who lived in Arizona. Well, I suppose I may be a little biased, but every person I have met who shares my namesake has been a pretty cool cat… ;) Kim and I had a great conversation and I felt so honored when she decided to reserve Sara’s wedding date with us!
Sara and I had a chance to meet when she came up to visit her mother. On the day of the engagement session, and I met Sara, her fiancé, Blake, and her Mom up at the State Park on Camano Island.

It was a chilly, blustery day, but we managed to get some good shots in before the happy couple froze. :)

Without any suggestions from the bystanders (Kim and I), Blake picked a flower and gave it to his bride-to-be. Well done, sir, well done.

As I mentioned, Sara and Blake live in Arizona and Blake had never seen a slug before visiting the Great (and very damp) Pacific Northwest. He found one during the engagement session and showed it to Sara; her reaction was hilarious… My thoughts exactly, Sara! ;)

The proud slug hunter and his prize…

Sara and Blake were an absolute joy to work with and I can’t wait to post the photos from their elegant opera house wedding, complete with a gorgeous dress, bright flowers, and a live dance band!
